Electronic Tech Maintenance I

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for conducting field service support missions for the National Data Buoy Center (NDBC). Performs electronic, electrical and limited mechanical assembly work at the industrial facilities and remote station locations of the NDBC network in support of all operational missions and programs. Performs field assignments as a member or team leader for the installation, troubleshooting, repair and de-installation of meteorological payload systems on remote marine or land based payload locations.

REQUIREMENTS

*1 year experience in maintenance, repair, test and modification of marine electrical and electronics systems.

*Possess good communications skills and has the ability to represent NDBC in the field.

*Considerable travel, including at-sea on board U.S. Coast Guard, NOAA, University or private vessels.

*Capable of performing duties at sea and within harsh weather environments.

*Degree/Education: AS Electronics Engineering Technology.

*Persons pre-qualified in Helicopter Underwater Egress Training (HUET) and/or Fall Protection & Rescue are desired.
